Methink Rebranded

You probably noticed, our website just got a little facelift. Yes, throughout the past year, we’ve grown some…and we were long overdue for a site redesign to reflect our updated brand. Our team has been working hard to refine what we do, and we’re excited to officially announce several new services we’ve been providing to some of our clients. Anyways, take a look around. Here’s some of the rationale behind our rebrand strategy.

New Logo

blog_old-vs-new-logoProbably the most prominent change to our logo is the symbol on the right. The motivation behind this addition was to convey “motion” and “speed”. We wanted our brand to represent motion in that Methink consistently strives to help projects make progress and move forward. The theme of “motion” was also in line with some of our new services in providing motion graphics and Adobe Flash development. We decided to utilize the traditional “play” symbol as something to incorporate into our logo.

The other attribute we wanted to portray in our symbol was “speed”. One of our core development philosophies is developing in rapid iterations (agile process). Naturally, we thought of incorporating the universal fast-forward symbol. So basically, our logo is derived from combining a play and a fast-foward symbol juxtaposed together. Our design goal for our new logo was to maintain a sense of simplicity and elegance. Hopefully, this comes through in our execution.

New Services

For a long time, we focused solely on Ruby on Rails consulting because we saw such elegance and efficiency in developing with Rails. We are STILL highly committed to Ruby on Rails development, but we don’t want to become known as just a “Rails shop”. Our goal was always to be a web development agency known for driving projects from Users’ viewpoint…not from a backend technology viewpoint. In our rebranding strategy, we are completely technology agnostic…meaning we choose the right backend tools for the right jobs. Ruby on Rails and PHP are tools we use to build custom crafted websites, and we choose the best tool depending on the situation. Aside from backend programming & development, we also wanted clients to know that we value design. Be it UX design, graphic design, Flash development, or motion graphics…we are equipped to tackle design intensive projects.

Anyways, we hope you like our site redesign and rebranded strategy. Thanks to all our clients who’ve helped us grow and get to this point. There are a lot of great things happening here at Methink, and we know we are now positioned to serve you better!
